Checkups, Consults & Installations
We offer services to check on existing piercings and to discuss future options with our piercers.
Appointments are *REQUIRED* to browse or purchase jewelry in the studio. Buying jewelry is not self service. At minimum, an employee/piercer has to be available to get your jewelry out of back stock and sterilize it, which takes at least 8-10 minutes. Jewelry is not one-size-fits-all. Some piercings have over a dozen common sizes. That means you need to know exactly what size you need (both gauge and length), we need to have a purchase on file in the last 5 or so years, OR a piercer needs to be available to assist you with sizing. We also need to have time available at the jewelry counter for you to look at our displays. If another appointment is already scheduled, someone else will be occupying the counter.
In Store Services
Piercing Experience checkup/downsize
This service allows you to book your follow-up/checkup appointment for a piercing performed at PE. Your first downsize is complementary! We generally do not charge for this service but will charge a $15 fee if you do not come in for your appointment. Any additional services, jewelry or supplies required are a separate charge.

Checkup/downsize for piercings performed at other studios
Book this service to have our piercer check on a piercing performed at another studio. We can also perform downsizing service for piercings with quality jewelry. New post priced separately. **You must know what size, both gauge and length, and weather your jewelry is threaded or threadless**

Piercing troubleshooting for piercings performed at other studios
This service provides a checkup/consultation with one of our piercers for a piercing done at another studio. This provides time to have your piercing evaluated by our piercers and to have any necessary jewelry changes. Our piercer will also thoroughly go over your aftercare routine and suggest any changes necessary to improve your healing process.
Any jewelry or other supplies required are priced separately.
Jewelry Change
Book time with a piercer to select new jewelry for an existing piercing and have that piercer help you install it. We can accommodate changing jewelry in up to 4 piercings in one appointment. If your piercing was performed at another studio, we will need your ID and have you complete a release form. Jewelry priced separately. Jewelry purchase is required.
Change for Retainers or Online Orders
A piercer will help you install non-metallic retainers, or install jewelry that is already paid for. Time for up to 3 piercings/pieces of jewelry. This appointment does not include time to shop for additional jewelry. Jewelry/retainers priced separately.
Downsize Service
Book this service to have our piercer help you install a shorter post in a piercing. Jewelry must be from a quality source, internally threaded or threadless. All piercing performed here qualify. **You must know what size, both gauge and length, and weather your jewelry is threaded or threadless**
This appointment does NOT include time to shop for new jewelry. New post is priced separately.
Jewelry Removal
Having problems taking your jewelry out yourself? Schedule time with our piercers to get help! This appointment does not include time to install new jewelry or purchase other jewelry to go.
New Piercing Consult
Book time with our piercers to have your anatomy assessed for a piercing, as well as having any questions about receiving the piercing and/or the healing process. The actual piercing will be require a separate appointment.
Online/Special Order Pickup
Have you already purchased jewelry and need to arrange a time to pick it up? Emailinfo@piercingexp.comto schedule a time to pickup your purchase. You must arrive at the studio within your 30 minute pickup window to ensure availability and to avoid a no-show fee
Browse & Purchase Jewelry
Book this appointment to reserve time to browse our in stock jewelry and take it to go. This appointment works best for 1-3 pieces of jewelry for healed piercings, and you know what size jewelry you need. **This appointment does not include time to install jewelry or consult with piercer on sizing. ** Please book a “Jewelry Change” appointment if you need help installing.
Jewelry Shopping & Styling
This appointment is for assistance with jewelry styling, anatomical consultations for jewelry sizes, and/or shopping for 3 or more pieces of jewelry. Also book this appointment for special ordering and custom design assistance. **This appointment does not include time to install jewelry or consult with piercer on sizing. ** Please book a "Jewelry Change" appointment if you need help installing.
Jewelry Reprocess
Clean and sterilize previously worn jewelry for a new piercing or other installation. Jewelry have been purchased from Piercing Experience and only worn by person receiving service. This covers up to 4 individual pieces of jewelry. Most jewelry will break down into 2-3 “pieces” (eg threadless jewelry is 2 – post/top, threaded bars are 3 – 2 ends/post). Jewelry needs to be dropped off at least 2 days before piercing/install, in a sealed baggie/waterproof container. We have 3 drop-off windows available per day, 12-2p, 2-4p, 4-6p.
