Coronavirus: Infection Control Practices
**UPDATE 3/16**
Beginning Tuesday, 3/17/2020, we will not be offering piercing services through the end of the month. This is because of new recommendations from the CDC and APP. We plan to offer these services again in April, but that is the best case scenario. We will keep you posted as information becomes available. We will be reaching out to anyone with an existing appointment to reschedule or cancel.
We plan to be available for jewelry sales and troubleshooting help. Please book an appointment to ensure availability.
Please remember that we also have an online store available to purchase jewelry, and that we offer gift certificates for future use. E-Gift Cards are available to purchase online via this link.
I’m sure you’ve heard about the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and worries about its consequences.
We want to assure all of our clients and prospective clients that we long ago implemented strict infection control practices.
We sterilize all implements for each piercing and use a fully disposable procedure (no implements are used from person to person). Surfaces in the piercing room are disinfected with an EPA rated, tuberculocidal disinfectant after each piercing. We regularly disinfect surfaces in the lobby, bathroom, and other common areas. Our piercers perform hand hygiene before each piercing or other service, between each glove change, and after each piercing. Our piercers also wear a surgical mask when performing services. Our piercers do not work when they are sick.
We ask that you do not directly touch display jewelry. We also ask that you do not touch your piercings and jewelry in the studio. This is both for your protection, so that you don’t transfer germs from your hands to your piercings, and for the safety of our staff and other guests.
If you suspect you are sick, we do ask that you do not schedule a piercing or come into the studio. We cannot pierce those that are suffering from any acute health conditions, such as colds, flu, or anything similar. Being sick makes it more likely to have complications with a new piercing. Coming to the studio when you’re sick could also expose our piercers or other guests.
We are also asking you to help practice social distancing by coming in by yourself. We are limiting guests to 1 per piercee as a maximum. We will turn away any additional guest.
