Order Processing Times

Orders for in-stock items are generally processed within 1-3 days. Please add this time to expected shipping times to calculate when your order should arrive. You will receive an email with tracking information when your order ships.

For items that are not currently in stock, processing times will vary. Each manufacturer/brand has different average processing times, and these times are beyond our control. Also, be aware that some items are “custom” and are made to order. We will ship your order as soon as we have all items in hand.

Backorder/Special Order Items

Items or item options that are not currently in stock will show as “Backorder” or “Special Order” on the item page, in your cart, and in your order confirmation. This means we do not have the product on hand currently and your order cannot ship until the item arrives from the manufacturer.

Piercing Experience cannot guarantee manufacturer turnaround times for jewelry. Approximate turnaround times by manufacturer :

  • Alchemy Adornments: 6-12 weeks
  • Anatometal: 6-12 weeks
  • Body Vision (BVLA): 16-32 weeks
  • Glasswear Studios: 3-8 weeks
  • Gorilla Glass: 3-8 weeks
  • Leroi: 12-18 weeks
  • Neometal: 6-8 weeks
  • SM316: 3-6 weeks

We expect your jewelry to arrive in the times listed above, but this is only an estimate. If we are shipping your jewelry to you, please add additional time for your package to be processed and travel to you.

Orders for special order items are non-refundable or able to be cancelled unless an item is no longer available from the manufacturer. 

Please keep your contact information up to date with Piercing Experience. We will contact you via the information you provided when you placed your order. If your phone number or email address changes, we need to know. We are not liable for incorrect contact information.

Shipping

We currently offer shipping through USPS.

  • Ground Advantage: this option provides lower cost shipping, but does not offer tracking or insurance. Averages delivery is 2-6 business days.
  • Priority Mail: provides tracking and insurance up to $50. Average delivery is 1-3 business days.
  • Priority Mail Express: provides tracking, insurance up to $100, and guaranteed delivery date. Delivery may be 1-2 business days depending on address.
  • Remember to consider order processing times (see above) and stock status when considering order arrival times.

Sterilization of Jewelry

Your jewelry will be sterilized (or disinfected for delicate materials like wood) and sealed in individual packages. This insures the items remain sterile until you break the seal. This also allows you to review each line item separately to ensure your order is correct.

Manufacturer Guarantee

Jewelry from Anatometal, Neometal, Industrial Strength, Body Vision/BVLA are covered by manufacturer guarantees. Each manufacturer has slightly different details, but these guarantees protect against manufacturer defects and generally guarantee the following:

  • Threads or pins will not strip or break
  • Gemstones will not fall out or change color

These guarantees do not include intentional damage or misuse such as damage from tools like pliers, or loss or theft. It also doesn’t cover ends that come off due to snagging or un-tightened threads, so make sure to check your jewelry regularly.

Because this is a manufacturer’s guarantee, your jewelry will be shipped back to the manufacturer for repair or replacement at their discretion. This process can take several weeks or longer. Once we’ve received and inspected your repaired or replaced piece from the manufacturer, we will sterilize it and send it back to you.

Returns/Cancellations

Because these items can come in contact with body fluids or other contaminants, returns are not accepted. This is the same reasoning behind underwear being non-returnable. This ensures jewelry shipped to you is brand new, making sure it’s safe for you to wear.

If there is an error in your order, or an item arrives damaged, contact us ASAP for return authorization before opening the individually sterilized packages. Arrangements will be made to replace incorrect or damaged pieces. We will provide postage to ship incorrect/damaged items back to the store.

Returns for damaged/incorrect items must be received within 14 days of receipt of order to be eligible for replacement. They must also be in their original, sealed packages.

Items returned without authorization will not be considered for a refund.

We must stress that this is for your own safety. Sterilizers are not magic, and cannot clean an item enough to be worn by another individual.
